The Keeper: The Magazine of the Keepers of the Quaich

We’re honored to have such a great write-up in “The Keeper” of David McNicoll’s book The Language of Whisky. They write: As an Atholl Highlander, and former employee at Blair Athol Distillery, David is well qualified to bring his book to our notice. His encyclopedic knowledge of the geology of Scotland is matched by his detailed understanding of social history, and both are interwoven throughout the book. As the name of the book implies, David explains the meaning and origin of distillery names by taking each region in five chapters. The remaining chapters focus on production in detail and an animated approach to the enjoyment and appreciation of Scotch Whisky. The Language of Whisky is an excellently researched and useful addition to an enthusiast’s library.
